Mongolia has repatriated 12 thousand its nationals since 28 January; nearly 5000 of them returned through border crossings with Russia and China, and the remaining 7000 evacuated by charter flights.
Earlier today (9 July), the National Emergency Commission (NEC) reported that Mongolia will evacuate 9884 more of its nationals from pandemic-hit countries.
This month, Mongolia will repatriate some 3000 of its nationals with 10 charter flights to Seoul, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Istanbul.
The very first repatriation flight was to rescue the Mongolian students in Wuhan – the epicenter of what was to become a global pandemic.
