At least eight people, two of them children, have lost their lives in the floods caused by the continuous rains in Mongolia. Recently, five people were swept away with their car by flood waters in the South Gobi Province
In addition to the human tragedy, over 2360 homes and 13 apartments in the Tuv, Khuvsgul and Khentii provinces were submerged in the flood waters; some 7000 livestock have also drowned.
Recently, all Mongolia’s major rivers have swollen by 10-50 cm after the heavy rains last week.
