Mongolian rock band ‘the HU’ gave a two-hour long concert at the White Rock Centre in Ulaanbaatar yesterday night (28 June) at 10.00 p.m. This was an online concert for collecting donations to support the National Emergency Commission of Mongolia in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the sum of MNT 53 million (USD 18,790) was gathered from Mongolians who enjoyed the HU’s online concert and transferred to the NEMA account.
The four members of the HU returned home on 3 May with a charter flight from Frankfurt to Ulaanbaatar after being stranded in the Australian city of Sydney for over three months. The band’s Australian tour came to an abrupt end because of the virus. The HU began its Asian tour on 27 February after successfully performing in concerts in North America and Europe.
In 2019, the band gave its first concert after releasing the groundbreaking ‘Gerege’ album in Ulaanbaatar with a ticket price of MNT 99,999.
