Mongolia’s international sensation the HU will give a two-hour long concert at the White Rock Centre in Ulaanbaatar on 28 June at 10.00 p.m. This will be an online concert for collecting donations to support the National Emergency Commission of Mongolia in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. With the sponsorship of MobiCom and KhanBank, the concert will be live-streamed through National Public Radio and Television.
Originally the concert was scheduled for Tuesday 23 June, literally on the eve of the parliamentary election. However, the band was forced to cancel the donation concert amid protests from opposition parties claimed it would affect voting and become an advertisement for ruling Mongolian People’s Party.
The four members of the HU returned home on 3 May with a charter flight from Frankfurt to Ulaanbaatar after being stranded in the Australian city of Sydney for over three months. The band’s Australian tour came to an abrupt end because of the virus. The HU began its Asian tour on 27 February after successfully performing in concerts in North America and Europe.
In 2019, the band gave its first concert after releasing the groundbreaking ‘Gerege’ album in Ulaanbaatar with a ticket price of MNT 99,999.
