Mongolian rivers dangerously swollen by recent flooding

As of 25 June, most of Mongolia’s rivers have flooded with water levels rising from 5-50 cm, warned meteorological agency. Therefore, the Delger Murun River which has its source in the the Ulaan Taiga Mountain in Khuvsgul province and the Terelj, Ulaisatai, Eg, Onon and Balj rivers, which all flow from Khentii Mountain Range have risen to 10-40 cm after three days of rain which fell in most parts in the country. In addition, the water levels of the Selbe, Kherlen and Khurkh rivers reached up to 50 cm while Balj River overflowed its banks in Dadal soum in the north of Khentii.

Separately, the Tuul River is flooding in the Ulaanbaatar area with water levels up by 10-20 cm.
