The National Emergency Commission has announced that MIAT, Mongolian airlines is sending three emergency charter flights to South Korea to bring back its nationals. The first of the flights departed earlier today (17 June) from Chinggis Khaan international airport at 09.14 a.m. The Boeing plane returned with 253 Mongolians from Seoul which has become a transport hub for evacuation flights in the Asia-Pacific region. The plane touched down at 5.00 p.m.
MIAT will conduct two more evacuation flights to Seoul on 18 and 20 June at the request of stranded Mongolians.
