Earlier today (9 June), ten Mongolian students; six men and four women were discharged from the National Centre for Communicative Diseases after fully recovering from the coronavirus infection. They are now under 14 days of isolation at resorts for further observation. So far, the number of recoveries in Mongolia has reached 85.
As of today, Mongolia has reported 194 confirmed cases of COVID-19; all of them are imported.
It should also be noted, that two suspected passengers from the Sydney repatriation flight have been quarantined at the NCCD. Mongolia has just undertaken its most recent ‘rescue flight’ which was arranged to the Australian city of Sydney. This took place with the support of the Oyu Tolgoi mining company and the necessary departments and agencies in both countries. The MIAT Mongolian Airlines flight, departed from Ulaanbaatar on the night of Saturday 6 June, carrying foreign workers from Oyu Tolgoi; the aircraft returned yesterday (8 June) with over 270 Mongolian from Australia. On the way back, the plane stopped over for refueling in the Philippines where it picked up 34 Mongolians who had been stranded in Manila and other places in the island nation.
