“Unexpected” summer snow fell in western Mongolian provinces on the weekend, a local meteorological department reported. June snow hit the southwestern mountainous parts of the Zavkhan, Uvs and Uvurkhangai provinces with an average of 2-3 mm.
In addition, Mongolia is expecting more rain and chilly temperatures this week. According to the meteorological agency, rain is expected to fall in the northern parts of Mongolia on 10 June, the western provinces on 11 June, central parts on 12 June and eastern parts on 13 June.
The wind speed is expected to reach 13-15 m/sec in western, central and Gobi desert areas of the country on 10-11 as well as 15-17 m/sec in the eastern provinces.
