A pregnant mother who has been in isolation at the General Hospital of Selenge Province has recently given birth to a baby girl. After returning from Russia through the Altanbulag border checkpoint on 14 May, the 39-year-old mother had been staying at the isolation facility for 16 days.
On May 30, team of 12 doctors and nurses successfully conducted a C-section, and delivered a baby girl weighing 2,710 grams. The mother and newborn are in stable condition. During the isolation period, the mother had two tests done for coronavirus, with both results coming out negative.
Previously, a 25-year-old woman gave birth on 13 May to a baby girl at the National Centre of Communicative Disease in Ulaanbaatar during the mandatory 21-day quarantine period.
