“Mongolia is currently ranking second behind Germany in terms of the percentage of its nationals repatriated from abroad compared to the entire population,” the National Emergency Commission has reported. The country of three million will continue the evacuation in June with more chartered flights to Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea, India and Germany.
Some 2000 people will be evacuated by following flights:
-to Kazakhstan on 10 June
MIAT chartered flight will evacuate 108 Kazakhs to Kazakhstan and to return with Mongolians. A total of 1097 Mongolians who stuck in Kazakhstan applied to take charter flight.
-to Japan on 11 June
Over 1200 Mongolians staying in Japan requested to return home.
-to India on 15 June
Mongolia will bring Buddhist students back from India.
-to South Korea on 17-18 June
Government chartered flights will evacuate Mongolia who have gathered in Seoul from other countries.
-to Frankfurt on 19 June
A total of 2382 Mongolians who are stranded in European countries applied to return home. The exact number who will be returning on this flight will be confirmed
-on 25 and 28 June
The charter flights and destinations will be announced later.
