Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Mongolians have united in supporting frontline fighters against the killer virus. As for today (27 May), over MNT 3.35 billion (USD 1.19 million) from 255 enterprises and 241 individuals has accumulated in the donation funds. In addition, 70 enterprises and six individuals donated protective materials worth of MNT 3 billion 186 million, in addition to a very Mongolian present, namely, 800 sheep. Surprisingly, it has just been revealed that over MNT 4 million has already been spent. It is fast becoming clear that there is little transparency. Therefore, the public is questioning who exactly controls the spending of donations?

Previously, O.Batbayar, an expert from Transparency International, noted in an interview that there had been three suspected transactions of large sums of money from the donations fund.
