Mongolia widely celebrates International Children’s Day as a public holiday. Every year on 1 June, exciting events for children are organised on Sukhbaatar Square in Ulaanbaatar. However, this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, all cultural and sports events have been banned under cabinet decision.
However, N.Manduul, Deputy Head of Family, Children and Youth Development Department, has announced that two events are planned for marking the International Children’s Day: A seven-hours of children’s programmes will be broadcasted on TVs on 1 June. In addition, posters promoting children’s rights will be installed at bus stops and in public places.
