A record number of 698 candidates from parties and unions as well a record number of independents have registered by online to participate in the Mongolia’s 2020 parliamentary election, which is due to take place in just over a month’s time. However, 51 candidates have dropped out of the race after having failed to report their statements of revenue and income to the online system of the Independent Authority against Corruption (IAAC).

According to the Election Law, the IAAC will report to General Election Commission candidates’ statements of revenue and income. This information is then released to the public by the GEC.

The 2020 parliamentary election will be held on 24 June.
