NEWS.MN, Mongolia’s first private media website, has won first place in a journalism contest entitled ‘Public Participation on Decreasing Air-Pollution’. The award was handed on 19 May at the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. Reporter E.Oyun-Erdene from Eagle TV won second place for her broadcast entitled ‘Air-pollution-related diseases’.
The contest was announced jointly by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Asian Development Bank and the National Committee on Reduction of Air Pollution with the aim of providing information about long-medium-short term programmes implementing by the government to decreasing air-pollution.
Our team’s publication entitled ‘China’s air cleansers or merchants of catalytic converters’ was selected by the judges’ panel which included environmental experts and representatives from the ADB. Over 30 news agencies participated in the contest.
