Mongolia has put some 5000 people under observation for symptoms of COVID-19 and quarantined 283 suspected as having the virus since 6 January. Fortunately, over 80 percent of them have been confirmed as having respiratory disease, but not coronavirus.

Currently, some 2000 people are under observation nationwide. Last week, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Mongolia increased from 42-140; most of them were people who have been evacuated from Russia. To date, all reported cases have been ‘imported’. Currently 114 patients with coronavirus are under treatment in the National Centre for Communicative Diseases. As of today, 26 people have been discharged from hospital after fully recovering from coronavirus.
