Mongolia’s COVID-19 cases reach 61

Mongolia’s health officials reported today (14 May) that confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country has risen to 61 after 18 students who were evacuated from Russia and one passenger who was on the recent Frankfurt rescue flight were tested positive for coronavirus. Mongolia evacuated 349 cadets and students from Russia yesterday (13 May), with the help of that country’s ministry of defence; testing of these students is still continuing.

The other new case is a Mongolian national, who is one of those in quarantine at the NCCD, after having arrived from Frankfurt on the May 3 charter flight, has been diagnosed with coronavirus in repeated testing.

Fortunately, two patients with coronavirus are recovering successfully from coronavirus; they will be ready to leave hospital soon.
