A controversial young politician, who was expelled from the ranks of the ruling party last year, is now facing arrest. Former MP N.Nomtoibayar has been summoned by the Primary Criminal Court of the Chingeltei District of Ulaanbaatar. The decision by the court was made on Thursday (7 May). According to one source, N.Nomtoibayar failed to give testimony on multiple occasions when appearing in court regarding power his alleged abuse of power. The former lawmaker stands accused of power abuse when working as Minister of Labour and Social Welfare and director of the National Committee on Labour.
As we reported this week, N.Nomtoibayar has decided to stand as one of the many independent candidates in the upcoming 2020 parliamentary election. What makes matters interesting is that he will be running against Justice Minister Ts.Nyamdorj who is standing in the same constituency in the Orkhon province.
