Approximately 40,000 Mongolian students take the General Entrance Exam (GEE) annually. In order to enter university, it is essential to pass the exam. However, this year fewer of the 28.000 students who graduated from secondary schools nationwide will take the GEE this year.
The exam is held on 17-20 June every year, but the date has been postponed due to coronavirus; this year, it will take place on 2-5 July. Furthermore, the Mongolian language tests, which normally form part of the GEE, will not be included.
Not prepared to take any risks, the National Emergency Commission of Mongolia decided, on 14 April, to extend the national school quarantine until 1 September.
