Mongolian rock sensation the HU band is currently stranded in Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, all members of the group are well. The band members have applied to the Mongolian Embassy in Australia to return home after having been stranded in Sydney for over two months. The band missed the chance to return home after Mongolia cancelled all international flights on 28 March. The HU began its Asian tours on 27 February after successfully performing concerts in North America and Europe. Currently, the band members are staying in a cheap apartment provided by Airbnb.
Meanwhile Mongolia has announced an additional flight to Seoul at the urgent request of Mongolians who are stuck in USA and Australia. The South Korean capital has emerged as a transit hub for evacuation flights in the Asia-Pacific Region. Currently, over 3000 Mongolians have applied to embassies and consulates in the USA and Australia to return home. MIAT aircraft will fly to Seoul on 30 April and 1 May followed by Frankfurt on 2 May. It remains to be seen, whether it will be possible for the HU to make the Seoul connection?
