Prenatal classes for dads–to-be are a new concept in Mongolia. However, young Mongolian fathers are actively attending such classes for understanding their loved ones during pregnancy. The ‘Enkh Turukhui’ (WellBearing), centre for pregnant women in Ulaanbaatar began providing the prenatal classes six months ago. Since then, some 200-300 men aged between 25 and 35 have attended the classes. During the class, thefathers-to-be have the experience of wearing 12kg weight of fake belly climbing upstairs for 4-5 times and feeling electric shocks to understand what birth pains are really like.
