Mongolian health officials reported earlier today (23 April) that 26 people who had been isolated in Darkhan-Uul and Selenge Provinces have tested negative for coronavirus. A total of 49 people had been isolated in Darkhan-Uul, Selenge and Zamyn-Uud after identified as having had direct contact with the husband and wife truck-driving pair who are Mongolia’s 34th and 35th cases of Covid-19. Testing is ongoing. The two were diagnosed as having coronavirus after returning from transit from a long-distance lorry trip to Hungary through Russia and other countries.
Therefore, Mongolia has established two new laboratories; one in Khovd, which is located in the far west of Mongolian province and, at the other end of the country, in Dornod Province for testing of long-distance truck drivers and for detecting coronavirus earlier.
Currently, 159 people have taken in observation at the National Centre for Communicative Diseases in Ulaanbaatar.
