As of today, Mongolia has 35 confirmed cases of coronavirus; seven of whom have recovered. All the patients with coronavirus are in a stable condition with mild symptoms. Therefore, none of them have required ventilator support.
However, Mongolia needs to be prepared for a ‘worst case scenario’; therefore, the country will buy 415 ventilators and over 500 beds for intensive care with funding provided by the Asian Development Bank. According to Health Minister D.Sarangerel, the country of three million currently has just over 70 ventilator machines.
