Currently, 34 foreign students are staying in two hostels of the National University of Mongolia amid coronavirus lockdown; three of them returned after the country closed its borders.
Z.Garavsuren, a doctor at the university, reported that the foreign students have medical check-ups conducted every morning and have received information about the coronavirus infection provided by the WHO and the Mongolian Ministry of Health.
At present, there are 167 foreign students living the NUM dormitories. Annually, some 900-1000 foreign students mostly from Inner Mongolia, South Korea, Laos, Vietnam, and the Russian Republics of Buryatia and Kalmykia, study in Mongolia.
As of today, Mongolia has 35 confirmed cases of coronavirus; all of them are imported.
