Nearly 1600 people are volunteering for the public police in Ulaanbaatar in order to maintain public order and safety during the current advanced phase of emergency readiness. The National Emergency Commission announced advanced emergency readiness in the country in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Mongolia has issued an obligatory 21-day quarantine measure for people suspected with the disease who have returned from abroad as well as 14-day self-isolation for other travellers and those who have been released from quarantine. However, contact has been lost by health officials with 13 people who were the released from 21 days of quarantine; it appears they have either turned off their phones or have gived false home addresses.
Therefore, Mongolian law enforcement bodies are seriously considering controlling citizens using electronic passports in order to ensure that they are not wandering around Ulaanbaatar, said Colonel J.Amgalan, director of the public order and safety department of the Mongolian Police Agency.
