A 41-year-old man has been injured in a seven-car pile-up in the Songinokhairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar. The serious accident took place yesterday (15 April) at 9.35 p.m, at the Bayankhoshuu Intersection. According to one source, the driver of a Hyundai Ston Truck caused the accident by driving into six other cars, namely; a T.Prius-30, a T,Rumion, a Daihatsu Terois, a T.Prius-20, a T.Prius-20 and a H.Sonota-7.
Just ten days ago, there was another massive pile-up in the Songinokhairkhan district. Police confirmed the details about the 11 people injured – three of them seriously – in an eight-car pile-up on 4-5 April. The horrific accident occurred at the Jantsan Intersection. The tragedy happened on 4 April at 11 a.m. as an Isuzu Cxz-81 Mixer truck lost control. According to the driver of the truck, the brakes failed.
The previous accident involved the Isuzu Cxz-81 Mixer truck, a Honda Fit, a Toyota Prius-20, a Hyundai Sonota-6, a Hyundai Sonota-5, a Toyota Prius-30, a Ssangyong Korando, and a Nissan Tiida.
