A Mongolian national who returned on 26-27 March across the Russian border has been diagnosed as having the coronavirus infection. The announcement was made earlier today (8 April). According to health officials, the patient was first tested negative on coronavirus, however, confirmed having COVID-19 in the second test.
The country of three million has reported 16 cases of coronavirus; all of which are ‘imported’ cases. Four of them have now fully recovered. As of today, three Turkish nationals, one Frenchman as well as seven Mongolian patients are still under treatment at the National Centre for Communicative Diseases; all are in stable condition.
The French national, who arrived in Mongolia on 2 March became the first confirmed COVID-19 patient.
