Transport Police Department of Ulaanbaatar received 327 calls on road accidents at the weekend (4-5 April). It is reported that two people died of accidents on local roads and 17 people were injured; three of them were children.
Police have confirmed details about 11 people injured – three of them seriously – in an eight-car pile-up in the capital. The horrific accident occurred at the Jantsan Intersection in the Songinokhairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar. The tragedy happened on 4 April at 11 a.m. as an Isuzu Cxz-81 Mixer truck lost control. According to the driver of the truck, the brakes failed.
The accident involved the Isuzu Cxz-81 Mixer truck, a Honda Fit, a Toyota Prius-20, a Hyundai Sonota-6, a Hyundai Sonota-5, a Toyota Prius-30, a Ssangyong Korando, and a Nissan Tiida.
