Two Mongolian women show symptoms

As of today (2 April), Mongolia has reported 14 imported cases of coronavirus, two of whom have recovered. Among them are three foreign nationals, namely: the Frenchan, who arrived in Mongolia on 2 March becoming the first confirmed COVID-19 patient in the country; he was followed by two Turkish citizens, who have been confirmed as having coronavirus following their arrival in Ulaanbaatar on 28 March with a chartered flight provided by the South Korean Government. According to sources, the two are family members of employees at the Turkish Embassy.

In addition, two Mongolian women were isolated yesterday after showing symptoms of coronavirus in the cities of Darkhan and Zuunkharaa. One of the woman, who has symptoms of phenomena, has been isolated in Zuunkharaa – a city of Selenge Province – after being released from 14 days of quarantine in Ulaanbaatar. She was isolated on 10 March upon arrival from Turkey after travelling in South Korea and India. Also, a Mongolian student who had returned from Russia has showed symptoms while in 14 days of self-quarantine. She has been put in isolation in Darkhan-Uul Province.

Currently, Mongolia has taken 2171 people in isolation for observation.
