Mongolia resumes coal deliveries through Shiveekhuren border crossing

Earlier today (30 March), Mongolia resumed coal deliveries to China through the Shiveekhuren border crossing in the South Gobi province. The Gashuunsukhait border crossing which was closed for two months due to Covid-19, was re-opened on March 23 to restore coal exports.

According to officials from the Specialized Inspection Authority, a total of 200 trucks from 22 enterprises requested to resume deliveries.  Previously, 35 trucks entered China after being thoroughly checked.

Truck drivers delivering coal, and other employees working at the border crossings are all equipped with protective equipment under the special rules.
