Mongolia reported its 12th case of COVID-19 on Saturday after one passenger evacuated from Istanbul tested positive. On 19 March, Mongolia evacuated 252 of its citizens from Istanbul; however, two of them were diagnosed as having the coronavirus infection. A French national was diagnosed having the disease on 10 March after arriving in Mongolia on 2 March – thus becoming the first case.
Earlier today (30 March), Mongolian health officials reported that two patients with coronavirus have fully recovered. The two unnamed patients will be discharged from hospital shortly, but will be required to self-quarantine at home for 14 days for additional observation.
Currently, 2368 people have been isolated in Mongolia; 43 of them are pregnant women and 56 of them are children under age 5. At present, medical staff are working at 337 isolation centres.
