The National Emergency Commission of Mongolia decided on Friday (20 March) to extend the period of advanced emergency readiness and preparation for a month in order to prevent the spread of the highly infectious coronavirus. Therefore, all schools and universities will continue to be closed and flights will be grounded until 30 April.
Previously, the Mongolian Government extended the period of quarantine until 1 April. All schools, universities and kindergartens in the country have been on quarantine since 27 January.
Mongolia has grounded all flights to and from Mongolia since 27 February. Also, international passenger train services to Russian and China have been suspended until 28 March.
