Cultural and sports centers to remain closed in Ulaanbaatar

Following last week’s confirmation of the first coronavirus case in Mongolia, the mayor of Ulaanbaatar has decided to close most of enterprises which operate in the capital until 16 March. According to L.Erdenechuluun, director of the Metropolitan Professional Inspection Department, a total of 4825 enterprises have been closed; these include all big malls, department stores, markets specialising on non-food items, hairdressers, beauty salons, shoe shops, photo studios, pawn-shops and car repair centres. During the shut-down period, all enterprises are obliged to conduct cleaning and sanitization.

Earlier today, most of enterprises have begun operation, but, bars, motels, billiard halls, yoga centers, sports clubs, fitness centers and tourism resorts, as well as religious buildings such as temples, mosques and churches have remained closed.

Restaurants, cafes, cafeterias and fast food restaurants are to remain open until 10.00 p.m daily.
