Mongolia to evacuate its citizens from South Korea and Japan

At meeting of the National Emergency Commission on Tuesday, 9 March Mr. B.Enkh-Amgalan, Minister of Road and Transport Development reported that Mongolian citizens who are transiting through Turkey and Russia will be evacuated by MIAT chaptered flight and elderly people, the ill and infirm and parents with infants will be returned from Japan and South Korea. Mongolia has cancelled all flights in order to preventthe spread of coronavirus which has now struck 105 countries. A French national was confirmed as the first case in Mongolia on 10 March.
According to L.Munkhtushig, director at of consular affairs at the ministry of foreign affairs, dates for evacuation from Japan and South Korea have not been decided yet. According to official information, Mongolia will evacuate a total of 1000 people from South Korea and Japan with four chapter flights.
