The Mongolian National Statistics Office released some interesting figures about women on the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March). There are 1 million 618 thousand women living in Mongolia; 69 percent are in Ulaanbaatar; 4.3 percent are single mothers.

Mongolian women get married on average at the age of 26 and most of them gives birth to three children.

An average, life expectancy for Mongolian women is 76. One in five Mongolian women has a higher education.

Over 555 thousand women are employed and are paid on average 1 million per month. In total, 36.7 percent of agricultural enterprises have women directors.

Regarding voting at elections, 54 percent of all women in Mongolia actively participate.
