Ulaanbaatar plans to create a green park on the banks of the River Tuul.
The River Tuul Green Park project has been discussed by Ulaanbaatar City Mayor and Governor of the Capital S.Amarsaikhan and D.Munkhjargal, who is deputy governor of in charge of air and environmental pollution issues and many other specialists The various environmental and land administration departments and the Urban Planning Research Institute, and Urban Development Agency are now busy planning the project.
The project is aimed at preserving the eco-system of the River Tuul, conducting environmental rehabilitation, creating fields for camping and playing sports and artificial lakes and ponds using surface water, and increasing fresh water resources.
At the meeting, Governor S.Amarsaikhan gave his suggestions to the team working on the Tuul River Green Park project and instructed the working group to speed up the development of the park’s general plan and commence development works within the second quarter of this year.
