Mongolian Men’s Bandy Team has qualified at the quarterfinal stage at the 2020 Bandy World Championship after defeating all its components. The competition is being held in the Russian city of Irkutsk, from 1-6 March.
Teams are divided into two divisions – A and B. With the teams of Sweden, Russia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, the U.S., Germany, and Estonia, the matches for Division A will be held between March 28 and April 5.
The Mongolian Men’s Bandy team was put into Pool B with the teams of Japan, Latvia, Slovakia, Somalia, Latvia and the Czech Republic. With consecutive wins against the teams of Somalia, Slovakia, Japan and Latvia, it was a fierce match for the Mongolian team against the Czech team in the last match for the preliminary round.
Crucial “swift” goals were made by the Mongolian team in the match by J.Bayarsaikhan in the 38th minute and by G.Tamir in the 40th minute. The Czech Men’s Bandy Team scored its only goal in the 40th minute of the competition. Mongolia defeated the Czech Republic by 2:1.
