An annual ‘Gobi Wolf’ international exercise will take place in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia in May. The international drill is being organised by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in partnership with the Embassy of the United States and the United States Indo-Pacific Command.
Earlier today (20 February) an organizing group held a meeting and exchanged information on the features and activities of the exercise.
‘Gobi Wolf’ is a civil-military disaster preparedness and response initiative that focuses on regional readiness to respond to natural and man-made disasters. Over 500 participants from 21 countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Nepal, Turkey, UK, Bangladesh, Thailand, Tajikistan, Vietnam as well as delegates from UN Agencies and international organisations were involved in the Gobi Wolf-2019. The exercise was held in Dornod Province in southern Mongolia.
