The Mongolian Government decided on Wednesday (19 February) to extend the period of quarantine until 1 April in order to prevent the spread of the highly infectious coronavirus. During the period, Mongolia has cancelled all sports competitions, training, seminars, cultural festivals and public events.
In addition, sport clubs and classes have been forbidden to organise training. The only exceptions to these tough, but necessary rules, are the national teams and those athletes involved with preparing for the Olympics.
Previously, Mongolia has canceled all tourism events nationwide in March.
