As of today (18 February), there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Mongolia; however, five more people who ‘may’ have the disease have been isolated; three in Ulaanbaatar and two in Gobisumber Province. The Gobisumber pair are people who have returned from Thailand and South Korea with high fevers.
In addition, the 104 people who were evacuated from Erenhot, in Inner Mongolia have been tested coronavirus free. On Saturday, three buses carrying the 104, entered the Zamyn-Uud border crossing from Erenhot. Mongolian health officials and custom officers conducted medical checks on passengers and sterilized their luggage as soon as the buses entered the border crossing. After four thorough medical checkups, one of the passengers had been suspected of being ill with Coronavirus. All the passengers were put under quarantine.
