Mongolia is one of 29 countries that has research centre in Antarctica. The north-east Asian country has set up Chinggis Khaan research station on Livingston Island together with accommodation for six persons. The Mongolian research station focuses on carrying out geological mapping and installing an automatic weather station, said Antarctic researcher L.Dugerjav. He is working along with colleagues from Turkey, Colombia, Portugal, and Bulgaria in the 28th expedition group of Bulgaria.
