The Mongolian Government has decided to establish a National Biathlon Team considering the success at the Winter Youth Olympics, which ran from January 9 to 22.

Seventeen-year-old Mongolian student E.Enkhsaikhan won 12th place in the biathlon competing with 99 athletes. It is considered a new success in Mongolia’s winter sports after the historic achievements of 1964 and 1968.

Mongolia has sent a record number of six athletes to Lausanne. The athletes competed in two sports – biathlon and cross-country skiing – at the Games.
