Mongolia has closed its border with China for cars and buses until 2 March; however, official exports and imports are continuing normally. The Mongolian Government is, however, taking additional steps to help export or import companies prevent infection from coronavirus which, as of today, has killed nearly 360 people and spread to 25 countries.
Gashuun Sukhait Road LLC, which delivers coal by truck to China has distributed masks, hand sanitizers and elastic gloves as well as provided information about how to protect themselves from infectious diseases.
In addition, the police, border officers, customs officials and specialists from the Professional Inspection Agency who are currently working at Gashuun Sukhait border crossing, have been given masks and hand sanitizers.
Mongolia exported a total of 36.5 million tons of coal last year, reaching an all-time high.
