Young Mongolian lawmaker N.Nomtoibayar announced today (30 January) that he will present letter of resignation as a member of parliament. Earlier, the Mongolian Parliament voted secretly about stripping him of his immunity.
MP N.Nomtoibayar was kicked out of ruling party of Mongolian People’s Party yesterday (29 January). This came after the General Prosecutor’s Office of Mongolia asked parliament to strip MP N.Nomtoibayar of his immunity. The young lawmaker is accused on three charges, namely: giving false statement, abuse of power, for illegally giving MNT 9 billion to an enterprise when he was a minister, and disclosure of secret information regarding an investigation.
In June, 2019, another young lawmaker D. Gantulga was dismissed from his position at his resignation request. He had been accused of the sexual assault of a 25-year-old woman.
