The Mongolia-Chinese border crossings will be closed from January 25 to 27 on the occasion of the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration.
According to Article 4.3 of the 2004 inter-governmental agreement between Mongolia and China on Border Checkpoints and Procedures, the crossings will be closed during national holidays.
There is, however, one exception: the Zamiin-Uud railway border checkpoint will remain open and international rail travel will proceed as normal according to the scheduled timetable.
In 2020, the Mongolia’s Lunar New Year will take place a month later than China.
