This year, Mongolia will focus on increasing exports of food, agriculture and light industry. Currently, exports of products and raw materials of food, agriculture and light industry account for less than 10 percent of the country’s total exports. The agriculture sector therefore remains heavily focused on nomadic animal husbandry with 75% of the land allocated to pasture, and cropping only employing 3% of the population.
Mongolia plans to implement various measures in nationwide to support exporters and improve the quality of exports.
Mongolia’s economy is largely dependent on export earnings from the mining sector.
