Mongolia has sent a record number of six athletes to this month’s Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne. The athletes are competing in two sports – biathlon and cross-country skiing – at the Games, which are running from January 9 to 22.
On 12 January, 17-year-old Mongolian student E.Enkhsaikhan won 12th place in the biathlon competing with 99 athletes. It is considered a new success in Mongolia’s winter sports. E.Enkhsaikhan finished by 36:50.9, more than two minutes the champion, Russian athlete Oleg Domichek.
