An ice hockey rink has been opened in the Darkhan-Uul Province in the north of Mongolia. The new facility will be used for ice hockey, developing team sports, winter sport and providing effective leisure activities for young people.

The ice hockey rink was constructed on land between the A and B blocks of the ‘Od’ secondary school in Darkhan city. Previously, the land has been granted for apartment construction, but, its owner has returned it to the government.

Mongolia joined International Ice Hockey Federation in 1999. In that year, the national men’s team, made its international debut at the Asian Winter Games.
