In recent years, outbreaks of flu have become common occurrences in Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar during winter. These have been made worse by suffocating air-pollution. Earlier today, the Mongolian Cabinet decided to, once again, extend the holiday break for secondary schools in order to prevent the seasonal spread of flu. Secondary schools in Ulaanbaatar will be closed until 20 January, but local schools, across the country, will begin classes from 13 January.
