Four young Mongolians have been selected to participate in the Obama Foundation Leaders Forum. The event marking the launch of an exciting one-year programme was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, from 10-14 December. This is the foundation’s first ever Asia-Pacific programme. The four young Mongolians are: D.Enkhtsetseg from the Open Society Forum, D.Munkhbat from the Global Green Growth Institute, B.Mungunkhishig from UNICEF Mongolia, and B.Bulganchimeg from the UN Development Programme.
The Obama Foundation Leaders: Asia-Pacific programme represents a one-year leadership development and community engagement opportunity which seeks to inspire, empower, and connect emerging leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region. Two hundred emerging leaders from the Asia-Pacific came together for five days of intensive skill-building workshops, leadership development training, and a community service project to kick off the one year-long programme.
Over the course of the five-day event, President and Mrs. Obama, as well as other prominent game-changing speakers joined the young leaders for discussions about progress and opportunity in the Asia-Pacific Region and values-based leadership.
