Mongolia has agreed to work with Hainan Province, the most southerly in China to develop science-based agriculture, train Mongolian agronomists, other specialists and producers and perform joint research and studies in introducing scientific innovations in the farming industry.

It will be interesting to see what innovations emerge – Mongolia and Hainan could not be more different! Mongolia is located to the north of China, is landlocked, experiences an extreme continental climate, with winter temperatures dipping below -40 deg C and with agriculture dominated by animal husbandry; in contrast, Hainan is a tropical paradise surrounded by the South China Sea.

The agreement was signed during the visit of a Mongolian delegation headed by Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ch.Ulaan to Hainan. The Mongolian guests visited the Hainan Tropical Agricultural Complex to study their experiences of introducing scientific innovation to farming.
